Pretty Hot Chick: We are so excited about La La’s Full Court Life [Monday nights at 9pm on VH1].

La La Vazquez Anthony: Well, thank you very much! You know I’m excited about it. The first season was really the wedding special and they [VH1] wanted to come back and do it again. It was a crazy time in my life with Melo [hubby Carmelo Anthony].

PHC: This season looks like it’s going to be a crazy emotional rollercoaster...

La la: Yeah, the 2nd season was a crazy time in my life because Melo gets traded from the Denver Nuggets to the New York Knicks and you get to see behind the scenes how that happens and just how crazy it is when your life changes so quickly, like you just have to pick up and move and we’re both from NY and how crazy it is going back to where you’re from and dealing with family and the pressure of being back. So you get to see all of that and of course all of my friends are a part of the show: Kelly Rowland, Serena Williams, and Kim Kardashian. You get to see them being all successful and supporting each other and I think that’s a cool thing to see on TV, our friendships. You get to see me hook my friend up on a blind date. You know there are all these fun moments on the show. It’s a very fun lighthearted show that people will enjoy watching.

PHC: Speaking of Kim Kardashian who just got married to NBA New Jersey Net Kris Humphries, what advice did you give Kim regarding her wedding?

Lala: She’s one of my best friends. We talk about every and anything and we give each other advice. We talk about careers, love and friendship...anything. I told her to make sure she enjoys this moment. Because when you’re planning the wedding and everything’s happening so quickly, it goes by so fast. You gotta make sure you enjoy the moment and soak up all the memories. That’s the same advice that her sister Khloe [Kardashian Odom] gave to me, which was to soak up the moment and enjoy it and take that time even on your wedding day to step back and look at the room and just...you know...soak it all in and I made sure I did that and we’re making sure she does the same things because it’ll happen so fast. She’ll be like, “Ok, what happened?” She’s so excited and happy and they make an amazing couple. It’s gonna be great!...

While it’s socially acceptable for a man to lay with as many women as he possibly can, it’s an old fact that the same cannot be said of a woman. Imagine a woman who has had as many partners as someone like Lil Wayne has allegedly been with. Although it’s safe to say that this number is more than just “alleged” judging by the way he has baby mamas popping up like he’s playing whack-a-mole with his wang. However, he is virtually in no way any less desirable to those who (inexplicably) desired him in the first place. But picture Lil Wayne as a woman. Not literally of course *shudder* but as a woman who has several children and multiple fathers for said children. Some would argue conversely, but we all know this factor makes her less desirable. Let’s subtract children from the equation altogether and consider a woman who has been as sexually active as Wayne. Let’s use SuperHead (Karrine Steffens) as an example. While many men would gladly receive her in private, rare is the man who would parade around publicly with her. But why? Because she’s been ran through. No man wants what practically has tread marks on it. What’s perplexing is why women don’t openly treat men the same way. Shouldn’t a man that’s been passed around like a snack tray at a bachelorette party be look upon as something overly used and thereby undesirable? I certainly don’t want anything the whole room as sampled. No, thanks! I’ll pass on that ran through man!

News Report: Haiti Earthquake

As many of you know, Haiti, the poorest country in the Western Hemisphere, experienced a devasting earthquake that crippled the impovished nation. The 7.0-magnitude earthquake that struck southern Haiti late Tuesday, January 12, 2010 afternoon, knocked down buildings and inflicted destruction and casualties. About 3 million people -- one-third of Haiti's population -- were affected by the quake, the Red Cross estimated. About 10 million people felt shaking from the earthquake, including 2 million who felt severe trembling, the U.S. Geological Survey estimated. President Obama said the U.S. would have a "swift, coordinated and aggressive" response. "The reports and images that we've seen of collapsed hospitals, crumbled homes and men and women carrying their injured neighbors through the streets are truly heart-wrenching," Obama said. A second earthquake hit Haiti today. Officials fear more than 200,000 people have died.

Musician Wyclef Jean, who is from Haiti and started the Yele Haiti Foundation in 2005 to provide scholarships to disadvantaged youth in Haiti, is asking for everyone to donate what they can to the Yele Haiti Earthquake Fund. For more info, visit www.yele.org. Vanity Fair puts Tiger in his "Black" place!

Tiger Woods graces Vanity Fair! But why this particular image? The photo, shot before the scandal by famed photographer Annie Leibovitz, is a rather interesting look for a man who always seemed to have this choir-boy, vanilla, color-blind image to the public eye. This picture, however, goes against Tiger's carefully crafted persona of a clean cut, racially ambiguous male. Here, he looks every bit the stereotypically menacing, highly sexual, predatory, Black man. Is it a coincidence on the part of Vanity Fair to select this image? Remember, a picture is worth a thousand words. And for most media professionals like myself, it is part of our job to present imagery that conveys a meaning or conjure up emotions. This is how the media manipulates your view of a certain person or situation as well as, to a large extent, how magazines, products and services get sold. I emailed the original V.F. (L) cover to a friend of mine. He responded with his version (R) of their cover and said, "They went to far!" So, is it a subliminal message behind V.F.'s cover? Hmmm...like, O.J. ABC News Report: Why are 42% of Black women not married?

“For millions of black women, many blessed with brains and beauty, finding the right man is proven elusive. But why?! Are their standards to high or are the pickings to slim?”

When I first heard of this, I thought, "Good Grief! Here we go again. What are they going to say different than what hasn't already been said." But after watching this clip, I was rather intrigued yet baffled. The women interviewed mentioned honesty, supportive, financial stability and chemistry as their requirements. That's not asking too much. However, based on the statistics, the pickings are slim. According to ABC, there are 1.8 million more Black women than Black men. So if every Black man married a Black woman, 1 out of 12 still wouldn't make it down the aisle. Seems quite bleak, right?! Comedian, radio personality & author Steve Harvey advises single women to date older men. Well, that may be an option for some women. Now for others, it may offer a whole other issue that perhaps certain younger men can...shall I say tackle?! I'm just saying! LOL! So, given the situation, should Black women settle? Would you?
